Anne-Marie Eekhout has a master degree in philosophy of education from the Radboud University in Nijmegen (NL). Her focus is on the different levels of children participation in The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
From 2008 onwards, she works as youth officer in the Liaison Office of the European Parliament in the Netherlands. She has developed and implemented an educational programme for secondary and vocational schools on European citizenship. The European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS) programme has 105 participating schools in the Netherlands and around 1800 schools in the European Union.
Before working for the European Parliament she had been responsible for the financial, pedagogical and personnel management of seven day care centres for children between 0-4 years with 65 employees. Before being in child care she worked in different positions as course coordinator/facilator for training programmes in consulting firms.
